Medical specializations

Urolase SP is a high-performance thulium fiber laser system designed for efficient and precise lithotripsy across all stone types, with added versatility for soft tissue interventions.

Combining a 1.94 µm wavelength with an advanced super-pulse mode, Urolase SP enables both fragmentation into large extractable pieces and dusting into microfragments for spontaneous passage—eliminating the need for extractors. Its compact, lightweight design integrates easily into standard endoscopic towers, requires no special adapters, and operates from a standard power outlet with minimal maintenance.

Clinical Applications

  • Lithotripsy:

  • Fragmentation
  • Dusting
  • Popcorning

  • Soft tissue procedures:

  • Stricture dissection
  • Tumor removal
  • Coagulation

  • Surgical approaches:

  • Percutaneous, mini-, ultramini-, and micropercutaneous access
  • Cystolithotripsy
  • Rigid and flexible ureterorenoscopy

Key advantages

Urolase SP offers advanced lithotripsy modes—fragmentation, dusting, and popcorning—for efficient stone breakdown and complete intra-renal clearance.
The 1.94 μm wavelength—with 4.5× higher water absorption than Ho:YAG—combined with a super-pulse mode, ensures efficient fragmentation of stones of any density with minimal retropulsion.
In “Dusting” mode, Urolase SP achieves stone fragmentation at least twice as fast as leading holmium systems, accelerating procedures and improving stone-free outcomes.

Specifications

Technological features

  • Lithotripsy modes with Urolase SP

    • Fragmentation – efficiently breaks stones into large fragments for lithoextraction, regardless of density or composition.
    • Dusting – atomizes stones into microfragments for spontaneous passage, at least 2× faster than leading Ho:YAG systems.
    • Popcorning – clears residual stone fragments effectively during intra-renal procedures by creating a high-energy vortex near the fiber tip.

Soft tissue applications with Urolase SP

    • Stricture Dissection – enables precise incision and removal of urethral or ureteral strictures with minimal thermal damage.
    • Tumor removal – allows for vaporization or resection of tumors in the bladder or upper urinary tract.
    • Coagulation – delivers excellent hemostasis during soft tissue surgery using water-selective energy absorption at 1.94 μm.
